UBS SuMi Trust Wealth Management Co. acquires Credit Suisse's Japan wealth management business.
UBS's Japanese joint venture, UBS SuMi Trust Wealth Management Co., will acquire Credit Suisse's wealth management business in Japan. This comes after UBS completed the acquisition of Credit Suisse last year. Following the addition of Credit Suisse client assets, the joint venture's ownership structure will be maintained at UBS 51% and SuMi Trust Holdings 49%. The move aims to capitalize on the increasing number of affluent households in Japan.
