TotalEnergies acquires 20% interest in Dorado natural gas leases in Texas, increasing stake in Eagle Ford shale gas play.
TotalEnergies has agreed to acquire a 20% interest in the Dorado natural gas leases in Texas from Lewis Energy Group, increasing its stake in the Eagle Ford shale gas play and strengthening its partnership with EOG Resources, which holds the remaining 80%. The Dorado field, located in the prolific Eagle Ford region, is expected to increase TotalEnergies' net daily US natural gas production by 50 million cubic feet (Mcf/d) in 2024, doubling by 2028. With over 10 million tons in 2023, TotalEnergies was the number one exporter of US LNG, thanks to its 16.6% stake in the Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana and several long-term purchasing agreements.
