2 people were killed in a car crash with a Washington State Patrol trooper on U.S. 101 south of Shelton. The trooper was responding to an emergency with lights and sirens on when the collision occurred at the intersection of Lynch Road. The trooper was not seriously injured but was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The Mason County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the crash.
