Nigeria's SERAP files lawsuit against Senate President Akpabio, seeking budget padding investigation, senator's recall, and transparency measures.

SERAP has filed a lawsuit against Nigeria's Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, over his failure to refer alleged N3.7 trillion budget padding to anti-corruption agencies for investigation and prosecution, and for not recalling suspended senator Abdul Ningi, who blew the whistle on the allegations. In the suit filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, SERAP seeks an order compelling Akpabio to refer the alleged budget padding for investigation and prosecution. Additionally, SERAP demands Akpabio to ensure Ningi's immediate reinstatement and implement transparency measures for constituency project funds.
