Nigerian drug agency NDLEA arrested Freeman Charles Ogbonna, an India-bound passenger at Lagos' Murtala Muhammed International Airport after ingesting 80 wraps of cocaine weighing 889g. Ogbonna, who was using a Liberian passport, claimed he was recruited into drug trafficking by a relative and was promised a N300,000 reward for successfully delivering the consignment in India. The NDLEA also arrested Imran Taofeek Olalekan, a drug mule at the airport, who had a false bottom in his backpack concealing illicit drugs.
