Javan rhino calf spotted in Indonesia's Ujung Kulon National Park, offering hope for conservation.

A rare Javan rhino calf has been spotted in Indonesia's Ujung Kulon National Park, offering hope for the conservation of this endangered species. The calf, estimated to be between three and five months old, was seen walking with its mother in the park, which is the last remaining wild habitat for Javan rhinos. There are approximately 82 Javan rhinos within the sanctuary's 120,000-hectare area of lush rainforest and freshwater streams. The species once numbered in the thousands across Southeast Asia, but their populations have shrunk due to poaching and habitat encroachment by humans.
