India aids 5 countries in UN's 'Early Warnings for All' initiative to develop extreme weather early warning systems by 2027.
India is helping Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Mauritius develop early warning systems for extreme weather events, IMD Chief Mrutyunjay Mohapatra said, as part of the 'Early Warnings for All' initiative launched by the United Nations in 2022. The goal is to ensure life-saving early warning systems are established worldwide by the end of 2027. India is supporting five of the 30 countries in the first phase of the initiative.
