Egypt's National Wages Council has announced an increase in the minimum wage for private-sector workers to EGP 6,000, effective from May 2024. The decision, led by Minister of Planning, Hala El-Said, aims to protect worker interests amid economic changes domestically and internationally. The minimum wage for private sector workers has undergone several adjustments since January 2022.
