A Dublin Garda, John Francis Ryan, faces trial for endangering life and dangerous driving in relation to a fatal N7 crash involving three gang members fleeing on the wrong side of the road.

A Dublin Garda accused of endangering life during an incident where three men died in a collision on the N7 must face a Circuit Court trial. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) directed charges after the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (Gsoc) investigated the fatal crash involving three members of a Tallaght-based gang. The men died instantly when their vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the N7 while fleeing Gardaí, crashed head-on with a truck. Garda John Francis Ryan, of Tallaght Garda station, is accused of endangerment of life and three counts of dangerous driving.
