Dame Christine Gilbert, former Ofsted chief inspector, will lead an independent review into the watchdog's handling of the death of headteacher Ruth Perry. The review will consider Ofsted's actions, communications, and support offered to staff following Perry's suicide in January, which was linked to an Ofsted inspection in November 2022. The review will not examine the inspection of Caversham Primary School or the judgments made during it.
