Ameresco, a clean technology integrator, has secured a $140M contract to develop and construct a biogas cogeneration facility for the Sacramento Area Sewer District in California. Located at the EchoWater Resource Recovery Facility, the 13.4 MW facility will use biogas byproduct from solids treatment to create renewable electricity and heat using fuel cell and engine technology. Completion is expected by July 2026.
