54-year-old Richard Ruston from Independence, Missouri was convicted and sentenced to 100 months in prison for robbing a First Interstate Bank in Shawnee, Kansas in July 2022. Wearing a disguise and wielding a gun, Ruston demanded money from a teller. The case was investigated by the FBI, Shawnee, Kansas Police Department, Merriam, Kansas Police Department, and Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.
