22-year-old Evan Bettencourt was charged with first-degree mischief after video footage showed him kicking the door of the Oregon City Municipal Elevator, rendering it inoperable and causing over $1,000 in damage. The historic elevator, the only city-operated one in the US, is now out of service pending repairs. The Oregon City Police Department is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
