2023: Vernon RCMP launches Integrated Crisis Response Team for mental health cases in North Okanagan.
Vernon RCMP's Integrated Crisis Response Team (ICRT) launched in November 2023, responding to the rise in mental health cases in North Okanagan. The new unit, dedicated to mental health calls, began its operations towards the end of 2023, as reported in the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP's fourth-quarter 2023 policing report. This report will be presented to the Vernon council.
