A clinical trial at the University of Galway has developed a new, less invasive approach to heart bypass surgery. The method, which uses CT scans and AI-powered blood flow scanning, has shown 99.1% feasibility and good diagnostic accuracy, without the need for invasive diagnostic catheterization. The trial was sponsored by the University of Galway and funded by GE Healthcare and HeartFlow.
