India's market regulator, SEBI, ordered financial influencer Ravindra Balu Bharti to deposit over ₹12 crore ($1.6 million) in an interest-bearing escrow account after investigating unlawful gains. SEBI found that Bharti's firm, RBEIPL, was operating an unregistered investment advisory business, compromising investor confidence and abusing the system for personal gains. Bharti and his associates are temporarily banned from providing investment advisory services or dealing in securities.
