Kolen, known as "Captain Crunch" for his hard-hitting tackles, played in the NFL for the Dolphins from 1970 to 1977, and had five interceptions during the regular season and two more during the playoffs. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2017, which he believed was caused by football.
