Kenya's President Ruto urges doctors to understand the government's financial constraints and live within their means. As the country's wage bill currently stands at 47% of revenues, Ruto emphasized that the government has the means to absorb all 1,500 intern doctors at KSh70,000 a month, but cannot continue to overspend on salaries. The government is working towards reducing the wage bill to meet legal requirements.
