The German frigate "Hessen" intercepted a Houthi missile in the Red Sea, as part of the European Union's naval mission Aspides, aimed at protecting merchant ships and key maritime trade routes from drone and missile attacks by Yemen's Houthi militia. The mission was launched in February and claims to have successfully avoided any damage to seafarers and merchant shipping.
