Veteran Tory MLA Karla MacFarlane announces retirement from Nova Scotia politics. First elected in 2013, MacFarlane was re-elected in 2017 and 2021, serving as community services minister and minister responsible for L'nu Affairs. Premier Tim Houston expressed his sadness at her departure, praising her dedication and kindness. MacFarlane was the first female Speaker of the Nova Scotia legislature.
