University of South Carolina student takes control of bus after driver's ejection, preventing further disaster in Mississippi crash.
A University of South Carolina student is being hailed a hero after grabbing the wheel of an out-of-control bus carrying 56 students after its driver was ejected in a crash in Hancock County, Mississippi. The bus, headed to New Orleans for a fraternity formal, crashed when one of its tires blew out, causing the driver to lose control. The student, who took control of the bus, prevented further disasters, as 11 people, including 10 students and the driver, were injured in the accident.
