The iconic "Rosie the Riveters," women who worked in factories during WWII, will receive a Congressional Gold Medal, one of the nation's highest honors, for their exceptional service. These women, now in their 80s and 90s, filled jobs left by men drafted into war and were credentialed as defense workers. Though largely ignored after the war, their critical contributions were eventually recognized.
