Oregon angler Rebecca Jones caught a 4.8-pound, 28-inch monkeyface prickleback, potentially setting a new world record.
Oregon angler Rebecca Jones may have set a new world record for the monkeyface prickleback, an eel-like fish, with her 4.8-pound, 28-inch catch on April 1st. If certified by the International Game Fish Association, her catch would surpass the current record of three pounds four ounces, caught in 2008. Jones, new to fishing, caught the fish at Barview Jetty near Garibaldi while hoping to catch fish for dinner.
