Meta mistakenly blocked a critical report from Kansas Reflector and links to independent journalist Marisa Kabas' website due to a security error.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has apologised for mistakenly blocking a critical report from non-profit newspaper Kansas Reflector and links to independent journalist Marisa Kabas' website, Handbasket. The social media giant flagged all links to the Kansas Reflector as a cybersecurity threat and removed its posts, before restoring most links except one that criticised Facebook. Meta communications chief, Andy Stone, called it a "security error" unrelated to the Reflector's criticism of Meta.
