Mātaatua ki Rotorua Marae reopened after a $4.9m renovation funded by the Provincial Growth Fund.

Mātaatua ki Rotorua Marae, part of the Ruatāhuna Marae Renovation Cluster, reopened after a $4.9m renovation project funded by the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF). The Ruatāhuna cluster, associated with Ngāi Tūhoe, received the grant for the project. The Marae Renovation Programme restored 349 marae across New Zealand, injecting millions into regional economies through wages and spending on building materials and services, and creating 3,556 jobs.
