Indiana reports its first positive case of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in LaGrange County, near the Michigan border. CWD is a neurological disease that affects white-tailed deer and is fatal. It has been detected in wild deer in 33 states, including all states bordering Indiana. The Center for Disease Control recommends that hunters consider having their harvested deer tested before eating the meat.
