Former Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer plans to join the First Circuit Court of Appeals in Boston as a visiting judge, aiming for a fall start. Breyer retired from the high court in 2022 but has experience serving as a visiting judge, following in the footsteps of his colleague David Souter. Breyer's role as a visiting judge will see him hear appeals from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Puerto Rico, and Rhode Island.
