Education Secretary visits Welwyn nursery amid childcare rollout; plans for 30 hours of free childcare places per week for under-3s, expanding from 15 hours offer for 9-month-olds from September. The Department for Education aims to extend the offer to 30 hours per week for children aged 9 months to school age from September 2025. Eligible working parents or carers of children aged 3-4 can already claim 30 hours of childcare weekly.
