8 more countries could be added to Ireland's list of "safe" nations under the international protection system, says Justice Minister Helen McEntee. Currently, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, South Africa, Algeria, and Botswana are on the list. Asylum seekers from safe countries have their cases processed more quickly, with decisions issued within 90 days.
