CJI DY Chandrachud expresses concern over lawyers commenting on pending cases and judgments.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud expressed concern over the recent trend of lawyers commenting on pending cases and judgments, calling it "very disturbing". Speaking at the centenary celebration of the High Court Bar Association of Nagpur, CJI Chandrachud emphasized that lawyers, as officers of the court, should refrain from forgetting their professional responsibilities while reacting to judicial decisions. The judiciary, he said, has time and again risen to the occasion to assert its independence and non-partisanship.
