CITES Secretariat develops eCITES tool to improve wildlife trade processes and receives 2024 Trade Facilitation Innovation Award.
The CITES Secretariat has developed a digital tool called eCITES to address issues in wildlife trade, including increased fraud risk, slow manual permit processing, and poor data sharing. This comprehensive set of tools supports the global greening of trade processes and helps ensure legal and sustainable wildlife trade. The CITES Secretariat received the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum's 2024 Trade Facilitation Innovation Award for this development.
