35-year-old Shane Michael Degraeve, of Tonganoxie, was found guilty of second-degree murder, endangering a child, and driving under the influence. The charges were related to a fatal crash on Sept 4, 2022, where his 9-year-old son was killed after being ejected due to not wearing a seatbelt. The truck's alcohol content was higher than Kansas's legal limit, and it had seatbelt 'silencers'. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 31.
