U.S. appeals court upholds federal approval of Enterprise Products Partners' deepwater oil-export facility in Texas.

A U.S. appeals court upheld federal approval of a deepwater oil-export facility off the Texas Gulf Coast by Enterprise Products Partners. The court found that the facility met environmental review criteria, even though environmental groups raised concerns about potential oil spills, emissions, and impacts on marine life. The U.S. Maritime Administration was deemed to have adequately considered environmental consequences before approving the deepwater port license. Enterprise has not yet received a U.S. license for the project and has not disclosed a final investment decision.
