St. Louis Cardinals defeat winless Miami Marlins 8-5, with Nolan Gorman's go-ahead double.
In their home opener, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the winless Miami Marlins 8-5, with Nolan Gorman hitting a go-ahead two-run double in the seventh inning. The Marlins, who are off to the worst start in their 33-year history, are now 0-8, last achieving this in 2016 when Atlanta and Minnesota each lost their first nine games. Miami's Jake Burger hit two solo homers, but it wasn't enough to secure their first win of the season.
