Rabbi Barry Marcus returns £2.35m to charities Dalaid and The Schwarzschild Foundation after NCA finds misuse of funds.

Rabbi Barry Marcus, a former London rabbi, has agreed to return £2.35m to charities Dalaid and The Schwarzschild Foundation after the National Crime Agency (NCA) found he had not distributed funds for charitable purposes. The NCA discovered Marcus had received over £1m since 2015, transferring significant amounts to his personal UK and overseas accounts without proper documentation. The Charity Commission has since opened statutory inquiries into both charities, focusing on their governance and operation by trustees.
