District Returning Officer Divya Prabhu clarified that while prior certification is not needed for political ads in print media except on poll day and the day before, e-papers must obtain pre-certification as they are considered electronic media. ECI directs that no political party or candidate can publish ads in print media on poll day and one day prior without pre-certification from the MCMC Committee.
