Ontario launches $3m bereavement counselling program for families of first responders who died in duty or by suicide.
Ontario will offer 2 years of free bereavement counselling to families of first responders who have died in the line of duty or by suicide. The $3m Ontario Immediate Family Wellness Program will assist families of police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers and correctional services workers. Mental health professionals will be available 24/7 for crisis support, counselling, and therapy via phone or online.
