Ohio's Mount Healthy City School District declared in fiscal emergency due to $10.8M deficit, under financial planning commission oversight.

Ohio's Mount Healthy City School District in Hamilton County has been declared in a "fiscal emergency" by the State Auditor's Office due to a projected operating fund deficit of $10.8 million, equating to 26% of the district's general revenue funds for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The district will now be under the oversight of a financial planning and supervision commission, which must develop a plan to eliminate the fiscal emergency within 120 days of its first meeting, working with the board of education and the community.
