8.2 million laundry detergent packets recalled due to faulty packaging defect, posing injury risks; Procter & Gamble offers refunds and replacement bags.

8.2 million bags of Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods, and Ariel Pods liquid laundry detergent packets are being recalled due to a faulty packaging defect. The outer packaging can split open near the zipper track, posing risks of serious injuries, including ingestion-related health issues and skin/eye injuries. Procter & Gamble will provide full refunds and free replacement child-resistant bags to consumers who contact the company. Recalled products were sold at major stores nationwide and online from September 2023 through February 2024 for between $5 and $30.
