Greater Manchester Police seized a record £300 million worth of heroin and ketamine, hidden in bags of rice, in what has been called the UK's largest mainland drugs seizure. Two men, Andrew Tait and Craig Parr, were arrested, with Tait receiving an 18-year sentence and Parr a 16-year sentence for conspiring to supply class A and B drugs. The investigation, spanning three months, led to the dismantling of a major drug-trafficking operation.
