Former Ghanaian President Mahama, NDC flagbearer, vows to close the Ministry of Sanitation and merge underperforming ministries if elected.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, flagbearer of Ghana's largest opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to close the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources if he is elected as president, stating it is "useless" and contributes to increasing dirtiness in the country. Mahama has also proposed merging other underperforming ministries, such as Aviation and Railways, into the Transport Ministry.
