7-foot-4 Purdue center Zach Edey wins his second consecutive Associated Press (AP) Player of the Year award, becoming the first player to achieve this since Ralph Sampson's three consecutive wins between 1981-83. Edey led the Boilermakers to their first Final Four since 1980 and broke record for the school's scoring and rebounding. Edey averaged 25.0 points and 12.2 rebounds, with 2.2 blocks, and is the fifth player to win the award in consecutive seasons.
