Drones delivered contraband to French prison inmates, via orders through Snapchat.
Drones are secretly delivering drugs, food, and phones to inmates in French prisons, often outside their windows. In late 2022 to December 2023, prisoners made orders via Snapchat, paying an average of €450 per package. A business called "Drone2France" was delivering goods to more than a dozen prisons in France and Belgium. Authorities brought it down after a botched delivery in southern France.
