Astra Energy and Powertron form joint venture for waste-to-energy projects in Zanzibar and Lesotho.
Astra Energy Inc. and Powertron Global LLC have completed a joint venture to create a waste-to-energy power company. They will own and operate projects as an independent power producer, selling energy and waste-to-energy solutions on long-term contracts. The companies aim to address waste accumulation, generate power, improve electricity delivery, reduce carbon emissions, and create jobs. Initial projects include a 50 MW clean energy plant in Zanzibar and a 100 MW project in Lesotho.
