Zedan Racing Stables sues Churchill Downs for a temporary injunction to allow suspended trainer Bob Baffert's Arkansas Derby winner Muth to compete in the Kentucky Derby.
Zedan Racing Stables, owner of Arkansas Derby winner Muth, has filed a lawsuit against Churchill Downs, seeking a temporary injunction to allow Muth, trained by suspended Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, to compete in next month's 150th Kentucky Derby. The stable alleges that Churchill Downs' ban on Baffert has no legal basis and is driven by a personal vendetta against the trainer. Churchill Downs, however, argues that lifting the suspension would threaten the safety and integrity of races at the track, a stance previously upheld by courts and the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.
