44-yr-old Sylacauga man, Cortney Speer, charged with arson, domestic violence, and resisting arrest; threatened girlfriend, set bedroom on fire, no injuries.

44-year-old Sylacauga man, Cortney Dequan Speer, is charged with first-degree arson, third-degree domestic violence, resisting arrest, and violation of condition of bond. Speer allegedly threatened his girlfriend with a wrench and then set a bedroom on fire while officers were attempting to speak with him. The fire was extinguished by the Sylacauga Fire Department and no injuries were reported.
