A University of Canterbury student, 20, had charges dismissed for alleged possession of weapons in his halls of residence. The student, who was granted permanent name suppression, completed a diversion program resulting in charges being dismissed. The man first appeared in court in October after concerns about his wellbeing led staff at the halls of residence to contact police.
