36-year-old Nikki Heitland was injured in a single-vehicle crash near Spring Valley, with alcohol suspected as a factor.

A Grand Meadow woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash near Spring Valley on April 3. Nikki Rae Heitland, 36, was driving a Chevrolet Impala east on Highway 16 when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a powerline pole around 10:15 p.m. Heitland was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office, Mower County Sheriff's Office, Spring Valley Ambulance, and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene.
