33-year-old Hidilyn Diaz, the first Filipino Olympic gold medalist, announced her dedication to continue weightlifting despite missing the chance to qualify for a fifth consecutive Olympics. Diaz finished 11th in the 59kg class at the IWF World Cup in Thailand, where compatriot Elreen Ando secured a spot for the Paris Olympics. Diaz plans to open her own sports academy and train athletes in the future.
