A water main break at the QEII Halifax Infirmary has caused all elective and non-urgent surgeries to be cancelled and rescheduled, as well as closing outpatient blood collection. The break affects the Infirmary, Veterans Memorial Building, Abbie J. Lane, and power plant, resulting in no running water for drinking or flushing toilets. Nova Scotia Health is providing hand sanitizer and working to bring in drinking water, portable hand-washing stations, and washrooms.
